The highest marathon in Europe For true warriors Hannibal's way of sky marathon has a great historical value, as demonstrated by the treatise "Hannibal and the Alpine Celts" by Sixtus and Simon Merlin, the most documented route of Hannibal's passage from the Alps took place at this point. The departure of the routes will take place from Usseglio (To). From this year the Ultra sky marathon distance has been added with 54 km and 4600 meters of positive elevation gain. Up to the Tazzetti refuge it follows the 42 km itinerary, but from this refuge it climbs up on debris to the Rocciamelone glacier on the border with France, and then to the tip of the Roccimelone 3538 m where you can witness a 360-degree panorama. The 42.2 km Marathon, the highest in Europe, has a positive elevation gain of 3588 m, the climb to 3305 m and five kilometers over three thousand with passages on snowfields and glacial basins. The 33 km Race has a positive elevation gain of 2425 m and offers participants a pass at 3070 m and a passage on snowfields.
